In a strong move to boost India’s export competitiveness, the Indian Government has recently approved a ₹45,060 crore export support package for exporters — with special attention to MSMEs, labour-intensive sectors, and global market diversification. This policy push comes at a critical moment, as Indian exporters face headwinds from global tariff pressures and rising costs. Importantly, PapaExport India is uniquely positioned to help exporters leverage this package to scale up their international business.
Here are the key components of the newly announced export support package and how they benefit Indian exporters:
Export Promotion Mission (EPM)
The Cabinet approved ₹25,060 crore for a six-year Export Promotion Mission.
The mission has two sub-schemes: Niryat Protsahan (export finance, credit support) and Niryat Disha (market development, capacity building, quality compliance).
It aims to help MSMEs, first-time exporters, and labour-intensive sectors improve their global competitiveness.
Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters (CGSE)
₹20,000 crore has been set aside under this scheme.
There is 100% credit guarantee coverage, enabling collateral-free working capital loans for eligible exporters including MSMEs.
This is a huge boost for liquidity — especially for smaller exporters who may otherwise struggle to access bank credit.
RoDTEP Scheme Reinstated
The RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products) scheme has been reinstated from 1 June 2025.
Exporters can again claim reimbursements for embedded taxes, levies, and duties that were not refundable otherwise.
The scheme has been extended to 31 March 2026, offering exporters continued support.
This helps especially sectors like textiles, where input costs (power, logistics, taxes) can erode margins.
Level Playing Field for SEZs, EOUs, and AA-holders
The duty and tax benefits under RoDTEP apply to Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Export-Oriented Units (EOUs), and Advance Authorization (AA) holders again.
This reinstatement strengthens the competitiveness of export units located in these zones.
